We are a multi-generational company that takes organic production and biodiversity to the heart of our philosophy. Come and visit our family winery where you can meet us and our wines !
We are Henriette and Eric, the winemakers. Here at LICHTLE Wines we produce the wine from beggining to end. Our 6ha of vines are worked in an organic and traditional way putting forward a hands-on approach ; every year we try to maximize the number of times we work manually. It’s a slow way of making wine that fits in our Philosophy.

Wine is not just a drink but an experience in it’s self, associating it with the right meal will elevate not only the wine but the food as well. The best way to see what are your favourite food pairings is to try out different combinations. If you don’t know where to start you can head onto our Wines pages where we give some ideas.
Organic since 2008, working in respect of the evironment is more than just a label. It’s a way of working that we intergrate in every job. Starting with how we transport ourselves to the fields ; always on a bike or by foot!
If we are to describe our style of making wine with one word it would be Patience.
We respect the wines schedule and our way of working reflects that.
It all starts with the Harvest ; how and when the grape is picked affects every decisions made later. Waiting for the oportune moment ; the balance of sugar and acidity.
After a year in the cellar we bottle our wine in mid-august right before the harvest. By then the wine is ready to be enjoyed.
A few of our special wines get to stay a year longer, that will bring body and power to the wine.
Alsace – our region, our village, our house are reflections of a long history with wine.
Since generations wine has been produced at our winery in Gueberschwihr. We can trace our LICHLTE family tree to the beginning of 17th century and 20 generations later we are still here – active in the wine world. Generation after generation, the vines have thrived and the love of taking care of the land was passed down.
Today the LICHTLE are a large family that you can find nearly everywhere in Alsace and in the world.
I worked with my dad on and off between my travels around the world, learning about life and wine. I took over the winery from my dad in the 1990s. Very fast, organic, became the main idea of growing the vines and we officially had our ECO certification in 2008. The first wine producer in Gueberschwihr. The company grew slowly and steadily becoming bigger with plots being bought to diversify the wine offer. We are now mastering 6ha placed around the village in historical well-known terroirs.
I am proud that the story will continue – the next generation is ready to take over when time comes.
